We require a TA Scheduler. The successful candidate will create and maintain a schedule for each supported project. The Scheduler will work with Client TA Managers, and TA team members to gain an understanding of Turnaround requirements to provide insightful schedule development and management. The Scheduler will adhere to the client’s TA Controls Scheduling Procedures including, but not limited to the development and analysis of TA schedules, provide regular schedule updates, and evaluate project progress.
Key responsibilities of the Turnaround (TA) Scheduler role include:
- Determines with leadership key performance metrics to monitor schedule performance.
- Receives work orders and checks for administrative completeness, downloads into Primavera for TA.
- Sets net capacity for the crafts based on information about the area turnaround schedule and the related available labor (Dow and non-Dow)
- Obtain approval of final schedule from operations, maintenance, capital and hard money stakeholders
- Ties-in and schedule add-ons based on priority set by the steering team.
- Assists in validating the prime-to-prime estimates.
- Identify resource requirements for the scheduled jobs using the job plans, level resources using histograms and identifies resources leveraging opportunities.
- Build plant clearing, commission, pre, post and do-work schedules.
- Integration of hard money/maintenance, capital and operations activities into one Primavera schedule.
- Leads scheduling meetings (includes registering action items, forwarding minutes to team) and improvement efforts.
- Schedule pre/post work resources
- Update progress of pre-work schedule
- Build the schedule making the most effective and efficient use of available resource and issuing the schedule (permit list) to operations and coordinator.
- Determines activity updates for the duration of the schedule – for example % complete, hrs complete or both.
- Determines update frequency.
- Initiates material movement for “Add-On” scheduled jobs.
- Monitors schedule performance to ensure pre-work finish milestones are met.
- Monitors manpower performance and needs to ensure pre-work finish milestones are met.
- Ensures Task Lists are updated and if not communicates the deficiencies to TAM for resolution.
- Distributes crew lists and look ahead schedules to lead personnel.
- Troubleshoot potential delays, resource overloads and leveraging opportunities and report to TA management.
- Look for sequence progress and determines if the logic is still valid.
- Assists in the update of the jobs from field supervision, to be included in the “daily/shift schedules.”
- Communicates scheduling status and critical path at meetings.
- Print and post daily reports. (Bar charts) if needed for plant personnel, update web pages.
- Monitors/reviews key performance measures off Primavera and Excel reports.
- Reviews add-on jobs for the duration and communicates to the steering team.
- Understand and implement the Best Practice work breakdown structure per Dow’s Global Scheduling OD.
- Understand and implement the Global Codes used for Dow.
- Develop schedule that matches the TA driver. (Schedule or cost driven)
- Understand the impact of TA calendars and associated values and impacts of each.
Qualifications
- Turnaround, Shutdown, Outage, and/or Project based knowledge of the following software and systems: Primavera P6. Excel, Word, and schedule related tools.
